Katelyn's Tooth

A few weeks ago we were eating dinner when Katelyn started complaining about her tooth hurting. Knowing she had a cavity that needed fixed I told her to try chewing on the other side. She informed me that it hurt no matter what side she ate on so I decided to have a look. After she pointed out which one was bothering her I had a thought to give it a little wiggle, revealing that her tooth was loose. This surprised me because for some silly reason I had forgotten that at one point or another her baby teeth would start falling out. Katelyn was excited and I was nervous because I didn't know how to go about getting her tooth out. Ben piped in and said we should just leave it alone and let it work its coarse so we did. So tonight, three weeks later, I wanted to see how loose it was so I gave it a little tug but nothing happened so I left it alone. Later on Katelyn decided that she wanted to give it some tugs so I told her to go in the bathroom and use some toilet paper. Few seconds later I hear a little scream in the bathroom and then her running to show me her tooth. She was thrilled and proud that she had pulled it out herself. We quickly put it in a little container so it wouldn't get lost and now it is under her pillow awaiting the tooth fairy!
What Would I do Without Him?

This week has been a long and exhausting week. Monday everything was looking pretty good but as soon as Tuesday night rolled around I could tell I was getting sick. By Wednesday morning I was running a fever and my throat was sore and it felt like areas were swelling. I didn't think much of it because Ben and I for the last month or so have been experiencing soreness and swelling in our throats so I figured this was nothing new. However throughout Wednesday my fever never broke instead it continued to climb which left me with no energy and episodes of the chills. Thursday afternoon I finally got to the doctor and was informed that I had strep and was prescribed an antibiotic. I told the doctor that Ben was experiencing similar symptoms minus the fever, and he just laughed and said that we love birds were just passing it back and forth. Nice! So kissing then became off limits. It wasn't until Friday morning that my felt like endless fever finally broke and I could actually get up and do things here and there. In the mean time Ben was amazing (like always) :o). He didn't hesitate once to continually clean the house, cook the meals, tend to the girls, and get up with Jeffery every morning all while attending to me. Although I did feel really guilty that he was having to do all this by himself and then go to work until 11:30pm, my appreciation for him deepened and my love grew. I am so thankful Heavenly Father sent him my way because honestly, I don't know what I would do without him.

May I Have This Dance?

The girls lately have taken up dancing to the Christmas music on the radio. Accompanied by a rather large but gentle dog and an oversized monkey with manners.

Let the Battle Begin

Every Christmas it seems like, when the wrapping paper is gone and the tube that holds the paper is all that is left a battle begins. This year we happened to have three of those tubs exposed at the same time so Ben, Katelyn, and Jenna took up arms. It was fun watching the girls gain up on Ben and fight to the death as Katelyn would say. Despite the cries from hitting to hard the girls had a blast playing with their daddy. Here is some pictures of the action.

Sneaking up on daddy.

She got him :o)

Poking him to make sure he's not still alive lol

Baking with Katelyn

Before Jenna entered the picture and while she was still just a baby who couldn't get into things I used to bake and cook with Katelyn all the time. Now she is to busy playing to want to bake with me so I just do it on my own. However, the other day Jenna was acting weird and was pretty much sleeping the day away, Ben was at work, and Katelyn was getting bored. I happen to have a cake mix and some frosting in storage so I asked Katelyn if she would like to make a cake. Of coarse she said yes and we began. She is getting to the point where all I have to do is instruct her, she pretty much does everything on her own. While she was baking she reminded me that for her birthday I had got her a little cupcake set. So we pulled it out and she proceeded to make "baby cupcakes".
When they were done baking and cooled off she attempted to frost them but they were kinda falling apart. Oh well they still tasted just as good :o)

As you can see some of them got extra sprinkles.

Ward Christmas Party

Last night was our ward Christmas party. Every year it is held on a Friday night while Ben is working so I take the girls and we go with our neighbors. It was a fun night except after a little while of being there Katelyn ended up with a bad headache. She is pretty sensitive to sound and the party was kind of loud so I think that is what caused her headache. I kept asking her if she wanted to go home but she kept telling me "no" because she really wanted to see Santa. Unfortunately when the time came for her to see Santa she turned to me with tears in her eyes and asked if we could go home because her head still hurt. So we went home.

Jenna enjoying her dinner of roast beef, mashed potatoes, corn, roll and salad. Ending with banana cream pie :o)

A smile before her headache hit

Despite having a headache Katelyn went up and sang with the primary anyway. It is when they were all done I lost her. She never came back to the table so I searched the church for a good ten minutes or so. When I was about to ask my neighbor to help me look I spotted Katelyn sitting with her teacher. Good grief lol

The ward gave every family a jar of homemade hot cocoa mix and a nativity ornament kit. So this is our finished ornament.

Jenna's First Driving Lesson

We went for a little drive one Sunday evening. It didn't take long before Katelyn fell asleep but Jenna was starting to get restless after awhile, so we took her out to sit on my lap and look out the window. Don't worry we were on back roads and were going really slow, we were looking for deer. Jenna got tired of me so Ben had her sit on his lap and he let her drive, it was really cute. She had a big smile on her face and somewhat drove like a pro. However there were times she did send us all over the road at times.

I was going to post the video of her driving but it won't let me.
